Lights. Camera. Go! Registration is now open for the Richmond 48 Hour Film Project!
Join filmmakers across the region for this summer rite-of-passage to write, shoot, and edit a short film in just one weekend—June 5–7. At the kickoff, your team will receive a required character, prop, and line of dialogue, and the race to the finish begins!
All completed films will debut on the big screen at Richmond’s premier landmark cinema—the Byrd Theatre in Carytown—alongside fellow local filmmakers and film fans.
Once you’re signed up, it’s time to prepare:
- Compose your team
- Recruit your actors
- Gather your equipment
- Secure your locations
Remember: no creative work may begin before the competition weekend—everyone starts the race at the same time.
