Storyline: Austin, a media student in college, and Kylee, his aspiring news anchor girlfriend, document a strange, long lost video game for a school project. Their relationship is strained as the game brings Austin’s obsessions and delusions to light, and Kylee is forced to question her boyfriend’s sanity.
[AUSTIN] – early 20s any ethnicity man
Austin is a media-obsessed college student and aspiring documentarian who records everything in his life. Earnest, goofy, and intensely nostalgic, he’s the kind of guy who films a social event just to immediately reminisce over the footage. As his school project, a documentary about an obscure farming game from the 90’s, spirals into obsession, Austin’s need to document becomes controlling, invasive, and increasingly unstable. Must be comfortable acting in a naturalistic, found-footage style (direct-to-camera moments, handheld blocking, long tension takes).

[KYLEE] – early 20s any ethnicity woman
Kylee is a sharp, charismatic student journalist with a polished on-camera presence and a private life she keeps tightly controlled. Social, driven, and emotionally intelligent, she knows how to perform “confidence” — but under the pressure of Austin’s obsession, cracks in her facade reveal a side of herself she wants to keep hidden. Caught between loyalty, ambition, and the strange game warping her and her boyfriend’s sense of reality, Kylee navigates the story with subtlety: warmth in public, guardedness in private, and a growing sense that she’s trapped in someone else’s exposé.
Must be comfortable acting in a naturalistic, found-footage style (interview setups, being filmed in-the-moment, long takes, playing subtext without melodrama). Comfort with newsroom/set-style “anchor” delivery is a plus.
