“Cupid Missed” is a low-budget, coming-of-age dramatic short film that will be filmed in the Henrico, Richmond, and Ashland areas during mid-October.
STORYLINE: Crystal is a high school girl who is asked to homecoming by one of her friends. She knows she should be happy, but something feels wrong. As the days lead up to the dance, she finds out who she is and who her true friends are.
SEEKING:
[CRYSTAL] Female, age 18-25, can pass as a high schooler, any ethnicity, lead role.
Character description: Crystal is a soft-spoken, kind 17 year-old who is concerned about her upcoming date to Homecoming.
[JUSTIN] Male, age 18-25, can pass as a high schooler, any ethnicity, supporting.
Character description: Justin is a high school student who asks Crystal out to homecoming. At the beginning he seems like a genuine, kind friend but is revealed to be a narcissistic manipulator.
[NIA] Female, age 18-25, can pass as a high schooler, any ethnicity, supporting.
Character description: Nia is a friend of Crystal’s. She is often seen wearing makeup and is someone who pays a lot of attention to her appearance. She wants to be a good friend, but ends up making Crystal feel ostracized.
[DESTINY] Female, age 18-25, can pass as a high schooler, any ethnicity, supporting.
Character description: Destiny is the concerned, supportive best friend of Crystal. She is athletic and tends to have a darker, almost goth-like, aesthetic.
[CLASSROOM EXTRAS] Any gender, age 18-25, any ethnicity, three different scenes.
[THEATER EXTRAS] Any gender, age, or ethnicity, one scene.
SHOOT DETAILS:

The shoot will take place over four days from Thursday morning the 16th to Sunday night the 19th. Supporting roles will be paid $15 a day, the lead role will be paid $25 a day, and extras are unpaid. Meals and snacks will be provided on set for everyone and not every actor will be needed every day.
