Seeking Two Actors for a Non-Union Short Film Project

CAT THIEVES is a short dramedy about a son helping his father come to terms with the death of the family cat.

CHARACTERS:

MIKE (Male, 55-70) – Mike is a stubborn and fiery old man. The recent death of his cat has sent him reeling, and his obsession with stealing his neighbor’s cat, Mr. Pebbles, has been his main way of coping. He has difficulty talking about his emotions, but struggles to conceal his depression. The main person he talks to is his son, Jake, and they almost exclusively discuss Philadelphia Eagles football. This mutual interest brings them together, but it also keeps them at an emotional distance from one another.
Shoots 2 days – $500/day – Sept 30th and Oct 1st

JANSEN (Male, 55-70) – Mike’s neighbor, tired, frustrated, and jealous of the affection that his cat, Mr. Pebbles, gives to Mike. He is (correctly) convinced that his Mike is out to steal Mr. Pebbles, which leads to tense confrontations as Jansen’s neighbor refuses to back down.
