The Indie Short Film Festival is back for its third annual installment, bringing a powerful lineup of independent films, filmmaker panels, and cultural programming to Downtown Charlottesville from March 20-22, 2026.
Taking place across five downtown venues —Violet Crown Cinemas, Vinegar Hill Theatre, Vault Virginia, Common House, and The Bradbury—the 2026 festival continues its mission of showcasing bold, thought-provoking short films from around the globe.
The Indie Short Film Festival (ISFF) has quickly grown into a must-attend event for film enthusiasts, creatives, and industry professionals throughout the U.S. and abroad.
Audiences will enjoy screenings of more than 100+ international and domestic short films, panel discussions with filmmakers, a cinematography workshop, and community-driven events that celebrate the spirit of independent storytelling.
“This festival is about more than just films—it’s about fostering conversation, culture, and creativity in a city that supports the arts,” said the ISFF Programming Team.
Festival Highlights Include:
• Opening Night Launch Party with live music and DJ sets
• Live Table Reads featuring selected award winning screenplays
• Cinematography Workshop led by award-winning professionals
• Filmmaker Panel Discussions on creativity, industry trends, and film impact
• Audience Choice Award decided by festival-goers
