Pocahontas Reframed: Native American Storytellers Film Festival will be hosting a sneak preview screening at the Byrd Theatre on Tuesday, March 20th.
March is Women’s History Month and Pocahontas Reframed–Native American Storytellers Film Festival is proud to present two films about Amazing and Historically Important Native Women: Wilma Mankiller and Pearl Carter Scott
MANKILLER– 7:00 PM, This is the story of an American Legend, Wilma Mankiller, who overcame rampant sexism and personal challenges to emerge at the Cherokee Nation’s first woman Principal Chief in 1985.
PEARL– 8:30 PM, Beautifully filmed, impeccably portrayed, the feature film PEARL, a production of the Chicksaw Nation, brings to life the endearing story of Peal Carter Scott–Chicksaw aviatrix.
