Washington DC – Submit Your Film to the SmartPhilm Film Festival! – Entries begin Sept. 1

The SmartPhilm Fest brings to the U.S. Mid-Atlantic region the first film festival with films shot exclusively with smartphones. With the rise of smartphones and the proliferation of apps, the ways creatives represent the world around us in digital media is rapidly changing.

SmartPhilm Fest will level the playing field for all aspiring and professional filmmakers. Creative minds no longer need expensive cameras and equipment to bring their stories to life. All one needs is a smartphone that shoots video, write a script, make a movie, see it on the big screen.

Their goal is to provide a platform to the global artistic and film loving community to document and produce their own stories in the most accessible way. The festival is open to aspiring and professional filmmakers of all ages. Selected films will be screened at during a one day program at the inaugural SmartPhilm Festival in Washington, D.C. on April 1, 2017.

Submissions open September 1, 2016, 12:01AM (EST) and close December 31, 2016, 11:59 PM (EST).
