Washington DC- Georgetown University: Fall Screenwriting Classes

Georgetown University’s Center for Continuing and Professional Education is offering two 6-week classes – Introduction to Screenwriting and Advanced Screenwriting: Narrative Workshop – on our new campus at 640 Massachusetts Avenue, NW, Washington, DC.

Classes are taught by Kevin Downs, an independent filmmaker/writer who has written screenplays and held key creative positions with several Academy, Emmy and Grammy Award-winning/nominated producers, directors and recording artists.  Kevin holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from New York University’s prestigious film school where he studied with such world-renowned writer-directors as Ang Lee, Spike Lee and Jim Jarmusch.  Kevin is the winner of awards and fellowships from the Louis B. Mayer Foundation, the International Telly Awards, the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts and WorldFest-Houston.  Many of Kevin’s former students are now working professionals at such established companies as DreamWorks, PBS, Showtime and ESPN.

Our classes are affordable, located conveniently near the Metro and scheduled to accommodate the lives of working professionals.  Introduction to Screenwriting begins on September 9.  Advanced Screenwriting: Narrative Workshop begins on October 29.   Enrollment in both classes is limited.
