Washington D.C. – NBC Universal Full Time Production Manager Position Available -PAID

Responsibilities

The Production Manager will be responsible for the production vision of the station and will work on high level projects with Tech Ops and News.

Job Duties

  • Cross train, coach and develop members of the production teams
  • Create, document and implement SOP’s and workflow
  • Implement Disaster Recovery procedures and training that cover the Production Control Room and Studio systems
  • Track discrepancies, present results and provide solutions.
  • Schedule and implement necessary equipment and software training for staff
  • Scheduling as needed
  • Assist DOT on capital projects
  • Work closely with the WRC Engineering staff to ensure control room and studio equipment is properly maintained and repaired
  • Work closely with News Managers to ensure editorial direction translates to successful on air production
  • In conjunction with News Director, manage set look, design and implementations
  • Remote production management as necessary. Conduct sight surveys, vendor hiring, assemble crew, and fill technical requirements
  • Work with finance team on budgeting launches, special projects and remotes including controlling/negotiating/tracking actual expenditures on these events
  • Work independently to develop and manage projects, aggressively meet timelines and related budgets

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Degree in Broadcasting or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 7 years progressively responsible news production experience
  • Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role in a live broadcast environment

  • Strong working knowledge of the following equipment: Switchers (Ross, Grass Valley, Sony), Newsroom systems (Dalet, iNEWS, ENPS, etc.), Automation systems (Ross OverDrive, Grass Valley Ignite, Sony ELC), File based server playback (Harmonic Omneon, Ross Video BlackStorm, Bit Central Precis, Grass Valley K2, etc.), NLE system (Grass Valley Edius, FCP, Adobe Premiere, Avid NewsCutter, etc.), Character generator systems (Chyron Lex, Ross Video Expression, Avid Deko, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability for project management and execution, including budget, timelines
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to ever-changing requirements
  • Ability to work under pressure in a tight deadline, fast paced environment
  • Multi camera remote production experience
  • Easily adept at handling and completing priorities with a heightened sense of responsiveness
