Virginia Production Alliance Richmond District Meeting – Sept 27th – Featuring Gibson Worsham & Andy Edmunds – Fee for non VPA members

Please join us for a night with Gibson Worsham, the architect of the Byrd Theatre’s preservation project, and Andy Edmunds, Director of the Virginia Film Office!

Worsham, architect for Glave & Holmes and Board President of the Byrd Theatre Foundation, will speak at the Virginia Production Alliance – Richmond District meeting on Sept. 27th. at 7 p.m., with networking starting at 6:30. The Film Office’s Andy Edmunds will provide an update on the happenings of the commonwealth’s productions.

Worsham has more than 35 years of experience in historic preservation, historic research, and new traditional architecture. He contributes years of practice in the management of historic preservation tax credit projects, historic building surveys, and National Register nominations, with the Byrd Theatre as his latest project. Gibson’s passion for preservation and architectural history is evident in his work on many significant projects including the Restoration of Solitude House at Virginia Tech, the Restoration of Waterford Mill, St. John’s Church, and projects at Colonial Williamsburg.

Edmunds, after studying music at VCU in the mid 80s, produced a music video of one of his songs that was broadcast on MTV. This experience introduced him to the film production industry where he ultimately settled in as a location scout until landing a job at the Virginia Film Office in 1997. During his time with the Film Office, Andy has worked with the most notable filmmakers of our time including Terrence Malick, Ridley Scott, Clint Eastwood and Steven Spielberg, to name a few.

The event is free for VPA members and $5 for non-members. WCVE is located at 23 Sesame St, Richmond, VA 23235. For more information, visit www.virginiaproductionalliance.org or email info@virginiaproductionalliance.org
