Richmond – First Ever RVA 48 Hour HORROR Film Project – Oct. 19-21

Do you like to be scared? Do you love Hitchcock? Bring on the fake blood and the rumbling undercurrent sound effect and get ready for a weekend you won’t forget! Announcing the first ever Richmond 48 Hour HORROR Film Project where filmmakers from all over the Richmond area will compete over the Halloween season to see who can make the best short HORROR film in only 48 hours!

  • Filmmaking weekend is October 19-21. Kickoff and Dropoff locations TBA.
  • Horror is the genre. Sub-genres may be along the lines of zombie, satanic or psychological horror.
  • Premiere Screenings are Sunday, October 28 at the Grace Street Theater.
  • Best of Richmond Horror Top Ten and Awards Ceremony is Sunday, November 4 at the Grace Street Theater. A winner and runner-up will be selected, and there will also be numerous individual awards presented. Plus, the winning film will screen at Filmapalooza in March!

Yes, there will be an Networking Mixer as well as an Audition. Stay tuned for dates and locations.

Registration opens Thursday, August 16 at www.48hourfilm.com/richmond/horror and is limited to the first 28 teams! Cost is $150 regular and $175 late (while slots last). Those who made an RVA 48HFP film in July receive a $25 discount!

All other details are the same… 4-7 minute time limit, required character, prop, line of dialogue, etc.
