Tommy Productions is holding auditions for the crowd-funded feature film “People Don’t Die in the Comics Anymore”, a sci-fi dark comedy filming in Richmond, VA primarily on weekends January through May 2018.
ROLES:
THE FILMMAKER: Male, 20s, A determined but troubled documentary filmmaker with the world on his shoulders, battling with his self-destructive habits.
MUST BE ABLE TO MAKE AVAILABILITY ON WEEKENDS
CAPTAIN SPECTACULAR: Male, 20s, The all-around good guy and summation of the all-American super hero, follows the Filmmaker and acts as his conscience.
MUST BE ABLE TO MAKE AVAILABILITY ON WEEKENDS
SYLVESTER STEVENS: Male, 30s to 40s, Charismatic and energetic CEO of VITACorp, a Mark Zuckerberg type. Well-spoken and down to earth, creator of the popular OFF-SWITCH.
WAITRESS: Female, 20s, Jaded and closed off, but much more complex than she lets on. Humble but confident in who she is.
ESTHER: Female, 20s, Anxious but knows how to manage herself well. Proactive as a grief counselor, using her own experience to help others.
HELEN/HENRY: Male or Female, mid-30s to 50s, In charge of Northeast shipment services for VITACorp, friendly and family-focused. Very aware of his/her place in the world.
JULIE: Female, 20s, Young lawyer working for a non-profit pushing further legislation on the sale of OFF-SWITCH. Intelligent but not very complex when it comes to culture or relationships.
AUNT KAT: Female, 40s to 60s, Upbeat and optimistic, even in the face of loss. Practical almost to a fault.
The project will be crowdfunded over the course of December, with a goal of $10,000.00 and all involved in the production will receive a percentage of final funds.
We would prefer to see all auditionees in person but if you are not available on these dates, please specify and we can work out a video audition. Sides will be sent once we set up a time and printed copies will be provided at the audition.
